40 Squadron (Howick) Air Training Corps is one of the seven Air Training Corps Units in Auckland. 40 Squadron was formed in 1981 and celebrated its 30th Anniversary in 2011.
Our Squadron Headquarters are located in The Depot, at Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga. We Parade on Tuesday nights between 1830 and 2130.
The Air Training Corps provides training opportunities not normally available in schools, to New Zealand's youth. To learn more about the Air Training Corps, click here. OPERATION: BACKWOODS
POSTPONED
URGENT: OPERATION BACKWOODS POSTPONED DUE TO BAD WEATHER.
Unfortunately the weather situation has not improved and even as of 4pm this afternoon it was still raining. While they are passing showers, the frequency means we are in for a damp weekend which can make things miserable. Checking the weather radars, we are likely to get hit with a solid downfall around late Saturday/Early Sunday. In light of this changeable weather and the risk associated, we will
postpone this camp until further notice. Apologies.
We will look to re-hold this activity (or similar) in June, and will have more details in the next fortnight.
